Challenge
Despite years of meaningful work, Miva Collective did not have a central product experience.
- Content lived across multiple platforms with no clear entry point
- Users couldn’t understand how the podcast, live events, editorial content, and merch related
- The brand’s mission was diluted by fragmentation
- Mental health content risked feeling overwhelming or stigmatized
There was no “hub” to explain what Miva Collective is or how a user could explore it at their own pace.
Product GOALS
- Design a foundation that could scale as new initiatives launch
- Create a single source of inforamtion for the Miva Collective ecosystem
- Unify content, commerce, and community into one platform
- Make wellness education feel discoverable, not clinical
- Support multiple content types without overwhelming users
APPROACH
Prioritize content based on culture relevance, visual engagement, low pressure entry points, clear CTA’s, and navigation, while reframing the brand as a multi-surface product ecosystem, inspired by familiar cultural platforms:
- Festivals → Coachella / Stern Grove
- Editorial & Wellness → NPR / Mental Health America
- Merch → Stüssy / Supreme
- Music Discovery → Pitchfork / Soulection
More compelling content was surfaced first, with deeper resources available progressively. This mental model helped guide both information architecture and interaction tone.
information architecture
Rather than leading with clinical language or heavy assessments, the platform introduces wellness through: Music mood exploration, Short digestible articles, Playlists, Habit-based content.
To reduce cognitive load, the ecosystem was consolidated into three primary product pillars:
1. LIFESTYLE
A content hub designed to make wellness exploration feel as intuitive as music discovery.
Categories:
- Mood: emotional regulation, mental wellness habits
- Fuel: nutrition, exercise, body health
- Sound: music therapy, playlists, music theory
- Wrytrs: editorial, community storytelling, interviews, events
Each category supports sub-categories and CMS-driven content, allowing the platform to grow without restructuring navigation.
2. FESTIVAL
A dedicated experience for live events and community activations.
- Designed with more motion, animation, and playful color
- Clear separation from editorial content to match user expectations
- Inspired by modern festival microsites
This allowed the Festival section to feel energetic and expressive without disrupting the rest of the platform.
3. SUPPLY
An e-commerce experience inspired by streetwear culture.
- Merch positioned as cultural artifacts, not charity items
- Print-on-demand integration via Printful / Printify
- CMS-driven product management
- Exclusive collaboration collections with local designers
Commerce supports the mission without overpowering the experience.
outcome
The new platform successfully established Miva Collective as a cohesive product ecosystem:
- All initiatives now live in a single, navigable hub
- Users can explore content, events, merch, and collaboration opportunities in one place
- The platform clearly communicates long-term vision and credibility
- Domain transition to mivacollective.org reinforces commitment to mission and community
Webflow & CMS Execution
The platform is now fully CMS-driven, allowing easy updates without redesign.
- Built multiple CMS collections.
- Grouped editorial content by categories and sub-categories
- Integrated e-commerce CMS with print-on-demand workflows
- Customized a base blog hero template to match brand aesthetic
- Designed festival pages with advanced interactions and animations
